JUJU 津津 – Hong Kong at Wheelock Place Orchard

This was actually a very nice bowl of curry noodles, with sufficient heat and flavours, spicy, thick and strong without being lemak. The noodles and fishballs were also springy and flavourful. Really not bad.

The egg tart was layery crispy outside and soft and jiggly inside. The egg filling was sweet and eggy, a bit like custard. The polo bun was not bad, sweet and flaky, but not as airy as the one from Cafe de Beans.

The porridge had a very strong wok hei with a very pleasant sweet flavour, and was smooth with just slight graininess. The fish was tender and sweet as well somehow. Very nice.

The fish balls were bouncy and spicy, but the fish siu mai was a bit odd, doughy and a bit mochi-like with not much of a flavour.

The takoyaki was nice and soft with some pleasant bouciness and chewiness, tasty seaweed, savoury sweet brown sauce with mayo, and a generous chunk of tender qq octopus inside each takoyaki ball.

The razor clams were really qq and bouncy, with a nice black bean and chilli flavour, and oniony and garlicky. The squid ink pasta was squidy, with the squid fresh, tender and qq. The atmosphere here was really nice thought, in comfortable air-conditioned environs.
