MYO restobar at Robinson Road Shenton Way

MARCH 24, 2024

Recommended by The Straits Times, and worth coming back. The Kia Hiang Claypot Spring Chicken was heavenly – tender and flavourful with layered and savourtly sauce. The other signature – Crispy Yam Bags with Scallops – was also done very well, fresh with a delightful textural contrast. Everything else was done really nicely. Good Stuff.

Ji Tuo Hong Kong Style Tim Sum – Dim Sum at Bukit Batok

NOVEMBER 20, 2023

Recommended by UMakeMeHungry. This was actually really good dim sum, with fresh and springy siew mai, lightly fragrant and savoury glutinous rice, and crispy, qq and textured carrot cake. Definitely worth coming back for these and the rest of the menu.

Tea Garden at Sutera Utama Johor Bahru Malaysia

OCTOBER 14, 2023

The custard bun was seriously molten, and the custard sponge cake really soft and spongy. The rest of the dim sum was quite serviceable too. Quite a good crowd here too.

Chao Yue Xuan Dim Sum at Capitol Stanford Road City Hall

AUGUST 11, 2023

Recommended by various food bloggers, including Johor Kaki and ieatishootipost. The dim sum was quality, tasty and inventive, using fresh ingredients, and coming with the right textures depending on whether they were steamed or fried etc.

I especially liked the interesting Mixed Mushroom & Truffle Dumpling, which was redolent with the fragrance of truffle and had nice thin skin and qq fillings, and the Charcoal Pastry With Salted Egg Yolk Custard & Rambutan, with a nice combination of wort and shatteringly crispy pastry outside, with tangy, sweet and soft rambutan and creamy salted egg yolk custard.

Twin Star Dim Sum at Yishun Avenue 5

JUNE 25, 2023

Really nice deep fried taro dumpling, shatteringly crispy and crackling outside, yammy and soft inside with a nicely marinated fried shrimp, mushroom and chicken meat filling. Everything else looks nice too – worth a try again for their other offerings.
