Kuala Lumpur Travel Itinerary

JUNE 18, 2019

So it was a bit of a headache working out a free and easy 4 day 3 night KL itinerary for a three generational household, with the oldest being my 69 year old mother and the youngest being my 11 year old son.

But we managed to make something of this trip, and so I thought I should record this itinerary for posterity.

Day 1 – (i) Arrive afternoon and lunch at Little Penang Kafe at KLCC, (ii) Petrosains The Discovery Centre at KLCC (the son loved this Science Centre), (iii) Petronas Twin Towers, and (iv) dinner at Pudu Wai Sek Gai (go earlier than 8:30pm for the char koay kak, fried salted egg kuey teow, and 四眼仔胜利炸鸡 – fried chicken)

Day 2 – (i) Breakfast at Kedai Koon Kee – wanton mee and char siew, (ii) Petaling Street food trail – 何玉记肉粽 Ho Yoke Kee Rice Dumpling, Madam Tang Muah Chee, 義钦豆浆水 Kim Soya Bean, and 四眼仔特制咸鸭 – roast duck, (iii) Central Market, (iv) view of Masjid Jamek from Leboh Pasar Besar, (v) Merdeka Square, (vi) KL City Gallery, (vii) late lunch or early dinner and shopping at Pavilion KL (there’s a Madam Kwan’s here, where you could try the nasi bojari or nasi lemak), and (viii) Shah Alam i-City theme park (mum loved the lights and the son loved the bumper cars)

Day 3 – (i) Early lunch at Restoran Oversea for the lovely char siew and sio bak, (ii) KL Bird Park, (iii) nonya kueh at Nyonya Colors KLCC and shopping at KLCC, (iv) dinner at Fuego, Troika Sky Dining for lovely evening views of the Twin Towers, and (v) supper at Jalan Alor, particularly the barbeque chicken wings at Restoran Wong Ah Wah

Day 4 – (i) Breakfast at ICC Pudu – Ah Fook Yong Tau Fu Cheong Fun, Sisters Crispy Popiah, and Ah Weng Koh Hainan Tea – toast and kopi/teh/cham, (ii) Aquaria KLCC, (iii) lunch at Restoran Yuk Kee – sambal fried rice, roti babi, Hailam Mee and roast pork (if available) and (iv) last minute shopping before leaving in the afternoon
