One Bowl Man – Wanton Noodles

The crowd here was unrelenting. Which was probably why the truffle wanton mee was already sold out by 1pm. Nevertheless, I ordered a bowl of the usual wanton mee to try. The noodles were of a decent texture and taste, and the XO paste/sauce added that additional bit of dried shrimp flavour to the package. However, it would have been nice if the noodles had been tossed in the XO paste/sauce, so that the flavour was evenly spread out.
The wantons were something else. Even the usual ones provided a delightful package of taste and textures. The skin had just the right thickness and bite, and the meat filling tasted of mushroom and waterchestnut, with that satisfying crunch. I would definitely come back for this, as well as for the truffle version.
