Yon Yan – Bee Hoon & Chicken Wing at West Coast

MARCH 31, 2021

So it turns out that the owner of Yon Yan has closed the stall at West Coast Food Centre, and is acting as a consultant to the current Yon Yan at this coffeeshop, according to ieatishootipost. So this was the third in the series of bee hoon and chicken wing stalls he has sold or left behind, and which I have followed since about thirty years ago – the first two were at Commonwealth Crescent and Redhill Lane.

Everything continued to be very nice. The bee hoon moist and tasty, and the cabbage oily and sloppy. The chicken wing was really one of the gold standards of chicken wings, crispy outside, juicy and tender inside, and getting their seasoning of pepper, salt, msg, soy sauce and oyster sauce exactly right, creating a favour that was just nice, and makes you come back for more.

Eng Kee Coffeeshop, 505 West Coast Drive, Singapore 120505, opened Mon 12nn to 8:30pm, Tue to Sun 7am to 8:30pm
