Hup Chong Yong Tau Foo at Toa Payoh

MAY 9, 2022

Recommended by ieatishootipost, apparently quite well known in Toa Payoh. The noodles was quite nice with the Malaysian style soy sauce lashing, but I preferred to add some sweet sauce for greater layering. The fried ingredients were very interesting, including the mozzarella cheese pork dumpling which boasted cheese pull with a good cheese flavour, the scallop yam basket with a very good yam fragrance and flavour, and the pumpkin potato rosti which, well, tasted like a rosti. The meatball and ngoh hiong was also good, and everything was crunchy, moist, not overly oily and tasted of fresh pork and flavourful dried seafood. Good stuff.
