Pin Xiang Wanton Mee at Lorong 4 Toa Payoh Palm Spring

FEBRUARY 22, 2023

Recommended by Johor Kaki, with a short queue but constant stream of customers. The shrimp dumpling was really nice and textural, with mushrooms, carrots, black fungus, bamboo shoots I think and prawn etc. with the pork filling. The wanton was also nicely marinated with a smooth and moderately thick skin.

The noodles was the slightly thicker type, really nice to bite into and slightly soft springy, coming in a nice and unique savoury, lardy, spicy and a bit herbally black sauce. The bit of chilli was already quite spicy, so I cannot imagine how spicy the full works will be. Very friendly lady taking orders, and a very nice experience. The char siew was typical and lean, but the anchovy soup was sweet and tasty.
