Cai Ji – Fishball Noodles at Lorong 4 Toa Payoh Palm Spring

Recommended by Johor Kaki and super popular – 14 person and 30 minute queue on a Monday morning at 10am. The sauce was vinegary with good spiciness, and the noodles soft and slightly springy. The fish dumpling was solid – soft yet crunchy, the fishcake was really moist and had a good fish flavour, and the sliced and minced meat were fresh.

The noodles also came with crispy sole fish which provided a bonus umami flavour, and three full juicy mushrooms. The only drawbacks were the textural handmade fishball and meatball with an odd watery and slightly fishy flavour. This was overall really good though.
